Let me introduce you guys to my “little wolf,” Adakias (and because everyone always asks me, it’s pronounced: A-duh-kai-us). He’s basically my life right now. This handsome fella just turned one year old on January 25th and I love him to bits, even though he likes to make my life complicated. Unfortunately for both of us, my little husky/mix struggles with separation anxiety and tends to destroy things when left alone. Before you shout “crate train!” at the screen, been there done that and the results weren’t pretty.
That being said, I haven’t given up yet. I actually ordered a different kind of crate on Amazon last weekend and it just arrived today, so I’ll update on how that goes after we’ve tried it out for a little while.
Anyway, the purpose of this introduction is because I’m going to start writing all of my Adakias related posts as the “Little Wolf” series. You can expect to see things like his diet, grooming, crate training (as previously mentioned), any toys or products that have really worked well for us, dealing with his separation anxiety, and basically everything that comes along with being a crazy dog mom. I tend to spend a lot of time researching things to find the best fit for Adakias and myself, because really there is no one magical right way to do things, and I plan on sharing these things with you all in hopes that it will help someone else who may be in a similar situation. (That way I can pretend like all of those hours I spent in front of a computer screen weren’t really wasted or excessive.)
I miss that scaredy cat.
